British Society for Geriatric Dermatology

History

The British Society for Geriatric Dermatology evolved from the “Special Interest Group for Skin Disease in the Elderly”, which was formed in 2003. Prior to 2018 it was known as the Senior Skin Group.

Aims

We are a non-profit making organisation, affiliated to the British Association of Dermatologists.

Our aims are to stimulate interest in and understanding of the skin conditions of later life. We do this by providing educational activities such as study days with talks by experts in the field and running an annual essay competition for junior doctors and specialist nurses. Committee members are frequent contributors to educational events run by other professional organisations.

Membership

Membership is open to any health professional with an interest in the skin diseases which affect older adults.

Membership applications can be made online on the website of the British Association of Dermatologists by clicking here. In case of difficulty, please go to the public site here.

News

With the ongoing coronavirus pandemic the annual essay competition has been postponed.

Please note that we are unable to respond to individual queries about skin problems. Please consult your GP or dermatologist.
